The Solid State Logic ORACLE 24 is a fully analog, modular, high-end inline console with digital instant recall, designed to meet the demands of the latest studio, broadcast and post-production environments. As a consistent further development of the SSL console tradition, the ORACLE 24 combines the unmistakable SSL sound with ActiveAnalogue™ technology, scalable architecture, comprehensive routing, integrated bus compression and fully recallable signal paths.
With up to 112 mix inputs (depending on configuration) and a structural channel architecture based on up to 96 mix paths (in full configuration), the ORACLE 24 offers an entry point to a scalable large format console. The 24-channel configuration represents the middle expansion stage, with 24 dedicated mono channel strips, complete inline processing (small/large fader paths) and full equipment of all signal processing modules. Signal processing is purely analog – with digital control, storage and recall of all parameters via SSL’s ActiveAnalogue™ platform.

ActiveAnalogue™ architecture
At the heart of the console is SSL’s newly developed ActiveAnalogue™ technology, which combines traditional analog signal paths with digitally controlled components. This provides full recall capability – including gain, pan, EQ, insert status, routing and bus assignment – without digital sound manipulation. All parameters are stored in the O-Control software and called up in real time via the touch display and motorized control elements.
PureDrive™ microphone preamplifier
Each channel is equipped with an SSL PureDrive™ microphone preamplifier of the latest generation. These preamps deliver up to 75 dB gain and have a switchable mode for transparent SuperAnalogue™ amplification or drive mode with harmonic saturation. The drive character can be continuously adjusted and significantly expands the sound spectrum of the preamps – from linear studio sound to musical enrichment.
EQ & Dynamics – E/G Series sound design
The channel strips of the ORACLE 24 feature the fully reconstructed SSL 242 Black Knob EQ section, which can be switched between E-Series (constant-Q, “aggressive”) and G-Series (variable-Q, “musical”). The 4-band EQ offers two fully parameterizable mid-bands as well as adjustable high and low shelving/peak filters. In combination with high-pass filtering and flexible module sequencing, precise sound shaping is possible for each channel.
Dynamic EQ, a transient expander and two insert points (before/after EQ/dynamics) are also available for each channel. Inserts can be configured both analog and digital. The circuit allows complete inline processing via small/large fader structures with direct outs and channel linking for stereo signals.
THE BUS+ integrated compressor
The master section features a fully integrated version of SSL’s THE BUS+ compressor, based on the legendary G-Series Bus Compression, but enhanced with:
-
Feed-forward and feedback mode
-
LOW THD circuit for transparent compression
-
Activatable ‘4K’ saturation level for harmonic enhancement
-
Complete recall via ActiveAnalogue™
This bus compression is available on the stereo mix busses and enables classic SSL glue effects as well as modern sound design applications.
Routing & bus structure
The ORACLE 24 has an extensive internal routing architecture:
This enables parallel processing, stem-based mixing, subgrouping and feedback at the highest level. All bus assignments can be controlled via touchscreen, physical control unit or via the O-Control App Suite.
Monitoring, M/S & Immersive Support
The ORACLE 24’s monitoring system supports up to four alternative stereo monitor paths, with bass management and integration of external monitoring systems, including Dolby Atmos renderers.
-
Three foldback paths (cue feeds)
-
External inputs incl. Bluetooth, USB or network sources
-
M/S encoding & decoding with insert function
-
Switch between tracking and mixing at the touch of a button
The console supports mid/side processing natively – including insert points within the MS path.
Visualization & Metering
The channel displays show in high resolution:
Scalability & rack system
The ORACLE 24 uses a centralized processing rack that holds 24 channels and can access up to 48 mix paths internally. Expansion to up to 96 channels is possible by connecting additional 24-channel racks (modular, 13 U each).
-
1 rack = up to 48 mix paths
-
2 racks = up to 96 mix paths
-
Maximum: 3 remote racks in an interconnected system
All racks are actively cooled and operate under NR25, i.e. almost silently – ideal for installation in the control room or machine room.
DAW control & O-Control Suite
The ORACLE 24 offers deep DAW integration, including:
-
Switching per channel between analog mode and DAW control via FOCUS key
-
Full support for automation control, parameter assignment and remote editing
-
O-Control Software Suite:
-
O-Setup (system configuration)
-
O-Session (project handling & routing)
-
O-View (real-time visualization & editing)
The software enables complete offline preparation and restoration of all configurations via template or session file.
Templates & recall function
-
Templates save all signal paths, routing, EQ, gain and bus settings
-
Enables quick restoration of production environments without manual recalibration
-
Ideal for high-throughput studios with changing sessions
