Never a brand to rest on its laurels, Electro-Harmonix equipped the Satisfaction Plus with the vintage-inspired snarl of the original Satisfaction Fuzz and supercharged it with a dramatically expanded control section. All of the original’s fizzy fuzz is present on the Norm setting, but a quick flip over to Fat unlocks a thick, bass-heavy fury that would make any ’60s-era guitarist thoroughly unsatisfied with their primitive pedal setup. Once you’ve chosen your preferred setting, the active til-shift EQ Tone control and voltage-sag-inspired Bias knob give you the power to sculpt your sound. One foot in the past and one foot in the future: the Satisfaction Plus Fuzz Pedal takes a classic Electro-Harmonix creation, then cranks it up to the next level!
Vastly enhanced tone-shaping control
While the original Satisfaction’s 2-knob control scheme was truer to the ’60s-era pedals that inspired it, we’ll gladly defy the vintage-correct formula for the Satisfaction Plus’s drastically upgraded control scheme! Bog-standard Volume and Attack controls dictate your level and gain, but the Bias and Tone knobs have quite a bit more going on under the hood. Bias functions almost like a battery starve feature, taking your tone from smooth, full-range fuzz to a spitting bite on its lower levels. Moreover, the Tone knob’s tilt-shift EQ design inversely controls your signal’s treble and bass frequencies for a near-limitless font of tones to tap into.
Dual-voice Fat/Norm switch
The Satisfaction Plus fuzz’s Fat/Norm control allows for a deep level of tonal versatility, essentially transforming the Satisfaction Plus into two distinctly different fuzzboxes. If you’re after treble-y, vintage-style fuzz that mid-’60s Keith Richards would surely approve of, the Norm setting will be your go-to. Hunting for a fatter fuzz sound? Guitarists find that the Fat setting’s beefed-up low end is perfect for low-string riffage and full-bodied leads.
